Peeping sound from controller board samsung TV

The tv of a friend does noting anymore and just makes a high pitch peeping sound, see video. I opend it up to see if I could replace the power supply but it seems like that is integrated to the control board. So I am looking for a component replacement. I have no thermal camera to see what heats up so I was hoping that anyone who is more knowledgeable could point me to the component or a other method to determine the defect.

Cheers!

Can you take a picture of the circuit boards inside your TV and upload the pictures here?Adicionar imagens a uma pergunta já existente

Of course!

I thought that the video was good enough but I understand that this is more convenient! I added the picture to the question.

In the attached picture I have circled around 2 capacitors in red. Is the top on these capacitors flat or domed?

I think that they indeed have a small buldge on the top! Could that be the problem?

If so, how difficult would it be to replace them?

I have some soldering experience with some large ic chips and this could be fun to do. However, If it is quite involved I am happy to take the board to a repair shop and let them do the soldering and maybe learn a thing or two.

@driver160 This should be fairly easy. Can you give me the brand and series (e.g. Nichicon HN), in addition to the capacitance (uF) and voltage (V) of the two capacitors?

por

They are from SAMWHA and next to the logo it sais: MW.

Capacitance is 470 uF with 25V.

It also sais L5E Pet on the side.

Thanks for the help!

It is amazing that you could spot this via the photo, truly amazing!

Thank you so much.

I just found this capacitor, If this is the right one it might save you some searching.

I'd rather get a capacitor from a better company. Can you provide me with the dimensions of the old capacitor?

por

@andrewsawesome sorry for the late response!

The diameter is 10mm and the hight is 14mm.

@andrewsawesome

Hey, I just recieved the capacitors!

I looked up what the polarity of capacitors is, and I wanted to ask you if you can confirm that I will do it correctly.

I can see that the short wire coming from the capacitor is the negative one, because of the side that states a minus (-) sign.:

Block Image

In the next picture, I show how I am planning to wire it up. (of course from the other side). I can see the plus sign on the board that should indicate that I need to insert the long wire from the capacitor through that hole right? Because, if the short one has the - sing the other one should be +.

Thanks again for all the help!

Have you desoldered the old capacitors from the board?

por

@andrewsawesome

No they are still connected on the other side of the board.

por

@driver160 Mark the point of the negative stripe of the capacitor meets the top side of the PCB for both capacitors. Then desolder both legs of both capacitors or use the "wiggle method" (heat one of the legs of the capacitor up and pull the leg out a little, then alternate) and clean the solder pads.

Put in the new capacitors, matching the negative with the black dot on the PCB. Bend the legs of the capacitors out a little to keep them secured to the PCB, then solder the capacitors in, snipping the capacitor legs when you're done.

por

@driver160 Let me know if the TV works once the repair is done.

@andrewsawesome

Of course!

I am quite busy this weekend, so I do not know when I have the time to set up my soldering. But as soon as I completed the soldering I will react with some pictures!
