Battery replacement worked then didnt

Hi all - I did a battery replacement for iPhone 6s. It worked. I charged to100% as recommended for 2 extra hours. Then I unplugged it and went to bed. Next morning completely dead. Won’t charge. Won’t turn on. Won’t give any indication of anything - silent button doesn’t do anything. Won’t hard restart.

Now I now the guy(me) who did the repair is inexpert…but it is weird that it worked and then didn’t. (I would not have been surprised if it never worked). Any thoughts?

hello John,

There may be at least several reasons for symptoms like yours. The new battery might just have broken - it does sometimes. It is possible that the technician incorrectly installed the battery connector and the battery has lost contact. It also happens sometimes. Most often, however, one of the capacitors in the power buses is damaged, which leads to the complete immobilization of the phone. To unambiguously confirm the diagnosis, you need a good repair shop, where the technician will answer your question with 100% certainty - what was damaged. We have a number of specialized tools and repair procedures for this. For the future, avoid charlatans, it is neither professional nor cheap there. I am convinced that starting your phone from the current state takes about 30 minutes of work and relatively small costs (these, however, should be checked beforehand - they mainly depend on your localization).

Very helpful…this may also explain the behavior of the battery it replaced. Thanks!
