Transparent mode on and off by itself

When I’m listening to AirPods Pro with conversation Boost engaged, and transparent mode on, the transparent mode intermittently turns off by itself, then back on by itself.

It reminds me of an audio gate or limiter. Sounds around me, including my voice, appear to trigger the gate / limiter which in turn seems to close off the source mics which pick up external sounds around me. Within ten seconds or so, the audio gate / limiter opens up again allowing external sounds around me to be clearly heard again via the AirPods Pro’s external microphones. The transparent mode continues to behave as such until toggled to ANC only mode of operation.

If this is actually a feature, are settings available to at least change the threshold by which the gate / limiter it is engaged?

This has been an ongoing issue for me. And since that’s the case, I have spent quite a bit of time researching and following through with many suggestions, especially those listed on Apple’s website, which have also been suggested here . I’ve already followed through with each of the suggestions here, without resolve. If this is community based, I’d be curious to hear from others.

During my quest, I’ve especially learned the importance regarding the cleaning the AirPods Pro is. Never underestimate the importance of a thorough cleaning. I’ve found that simply rushing through a cleaning is not a good idea. It may be worth noting here that I’m probably considered a heavy user. I use mine on a daily basis and often use the ANC when sleeping.

Therefore, in order to confirm my cleaning, I’ve started using a microscope to better view my work. I purchased a 500x for just over $20 on Amazon.

So with that in mind, I feel confident in saying that the AirPods Pro are cleaned very well. Cleaning is not an issue.

So currently I’m a little stumped as to the cause of matter at hand. There’s definitely a malfunction somewhere within the nano circuitry of the AirPods Pro.

Your thoughts and suggestions regarding this matter are greatly appreciated. Thank you.  - MSNau
