Any difference between 612-0084 vs 612-0094 for LED backlight board?

For LED backlight board implemented on iMac 27” mid 2011 model, I found there are at least two designs Apple uses, 612-0084 and 612-0094, they look totally different with different connection type on the board, etc. Does anyone know the difference between these two types? And are they switchable?

Thanks,

4-Pin

iMac 27" LED Backlight Board V1 (4-Pin)

This is the first revision of the backlight board. To differentiate between the two versions, you will need to confirm how many pins the V-Sync socket has on your current board, as the backlight board needs to match your LCD version. (unfortunately, apple use the same part number for both, so they cannot be differentiated in any other way)

This version of the backlight board has a 4-pin V-Sync socket.

The EEE codes that match this version are as follows:
LCD EEE: DJ4K
Backlight Board EEE: HQH, HQG

(to identify the EEE code, please look at the serial number of the part itself, not of the machines serial number. it will be as follows XXXXXXXXEEEX)

8-Pin

iMac 27" LED Backlight Board V2 (8-Pin)

This is the second revision of the backlight board. To differentiate between the two versions, you will need to confirm how many pins the V-Sync socket has on your current board, as the backlight board needs to match your LCD version. (unfortunately, apple use the same part number for both, so they cannot be differentiated in any other way)

This version of the backlight board has a 8-pin V-Sync socket.

The EEE codes that match this version are as follows:
LCD EEE: DL1M
Backlight Board EEE: DDHQ, DJ5T

(to identify the EEE code, please look at the serial number of the part itself, not of the machines serial number. it will be as follows XXXXXXXXXXXXEEEEX)

@danj - thanks for the message. I checked mine, it is the 8-pin version, not sure if that 8-pin connection is for v-sync socket because the wire is connecting to logic board, not to display, and there is no separate v-sync wire coming out from the display unit, is this supposed to be right?

@danj - Hey Dan, do you know if the logic board design is also different for these two backlight board? Will it still work if switching the backlight board with the matching display screen, but not switching the logic board?
