My game card works in one system but not another

One game in particular isn't reading in my 3ds system. my system will read any other game cards just fine, so the system must be ok, right?. when I put the problem game into a friend's system it can be read and played without problem, so the card itself must not be damaged? I'm so confused I just want to play my game again
