I had purchased a replacement battery from iFixit in April 2019, but installed it only last week. Battery was not installed or used during this period. After 6 hours of being connected to charger the following is seen? Tried resetting the SMC but no luck. It is rather too late, but anything can be done to revive the battery?

Sadly, I don’t think a battery sitting for two years unused is likely to come back to life. Give the iFixit Store a call to see what they say.

Thanks Dan. I had written to iFixit support and they have offered a discount coupon for 50% value, which is very considerate of them.
