Why is my ps4 randomly powering off

Hi, so my dads ps4 is having a weird issue. You turn it on, play a game, after some time you hear a *beeeeep* coming from the TV. The PS4 signal is lost, you can hear the game for a brief few seconds before no signal is displayed on the PS4 and it is stuck on white light. At first it was hard to turn the PS4 on. It stayed BLOD. I was able to get it to boot up after unplugging from the wall a few times and discharging the PSU aswell as boot it into safe mode, rebuild database, reset to factory settings etc. I thought maybe a heating issue so I took it apart and changed the thermal paste as the one it had was very bad and hard etc. upon opening it the fan had some dust which I didn’t bother to remove just because I wants to check if it worked but the dust was minimal. I am not sure what causes this issue. Please help, I’m afraid it’s fault solder Joints with the APU or Ram chips. I might try to BLOD washer trick just In case although it powers and plays just fine for like 10-20 minutes and then has the beep to no signal to white light issue. (Doubtful it’s an hs I issue. Thanks)

Sounds like BLOD fault from overheating. Is it doing the long triple beep noise when it turns off? Or is it turning off without warning?

The dust build up is actually mostly on the heatsink fins which stops the air from going through cooling down the heat dissipating from the heatsink. When cleaning any PS4 always clean to the heatsink block because that is what most likely causes most of the overheating on PS4’s where the dust builds up.

No no triple beep. Normally when it is overheating, the light turns red, you hear the beeps and it shuts off. This is different, when playing a game the screen goes blank, you hear a BEEEEEP like a fax machine, and suddenly you can hear the game for a little with a black screen before the whole screen goes blank. MIND YOU, the console will still stay on in a WHITE LIGHT. Turning it off requires a force power off by holding the white light for over 10 seconds.

The console is crashing it sounds like, the constant BEEP I haven't heard of that one before so that is strange. I am suspecting that it may be a faulty hard drive is causing the crashing.

I recommend checking the hard drive health by removing it from the PS4 then using a SATA to USB adapter to connect to a laptop or just hook up the hard drive directly to a Windows PC then use a program called Hard Disk Sentinel to check the drive for any weak, bad, reallocated sectors or data communication errors.

Or you can try another 2.5" laptop HDD for testing on the PS4 that is OK to be wiped and re-initialised on the PS4.
