Why won’t my ps4 controllers stay connected from a certain distance?

I own an older PlayStation 4 that has had issues with over heating in the past that I fixed by taking it apart and cleaning all of the dust out. There was a month that I barely played it which lead to more dust Build up and it started over heating again. I took it apart again and cleaned it out as much as I could but there was one part I couldn’t get. I tried to get to it and at one point I thought I broke something but I wasn’t sure because it all went back into place fine. After I had put it all back together I went to turn it on with my controller and it didn’t work. I tried to use my other controller and it still didn’t work. Then I put the controller right beside the console and tried it and it worked but when I brought the controller back to my chair to sit down, it disconnected. I can’t have the controllers any further than 2 feet away from my console without them disconnecting. Is there a way to fix this? I also tried to rebuild the database on my ps4 and it still didn’t work
