My Touch ID randomly stopped working. I went inside my phone to work on a shaky camera and closed the phone back into place. It was still working for about 3 hours after the repair and then stopped. But my home button is still functional. What’s going on?

If you didn’t remove the home button it will either be the home button connector or a damaged flex cable. Make sure the home button connector is seated properly on the logic board. That is the one running vertical. If it is not that it will be a damaged flex cable and you will need to replace your screen.
