Why is my L button getting stuck and squeaking?

I just got a replacement Lite after my first one had a joystick issue. This one has an issue where the top left bumper (the L button) will get stuck and consistently makes squeaky noises. This only happens when I press from the top of the button. If I press from the side, it responds normally. What’s going on, and how can it be fixed?
