Hello, I am new to the forums. I have an old TiBook G4 that I started using again after years of sitting in my closet. I used to use it a ton about 8 years ago I never remembered the hinge being that tight. Is there an easy fix, or do I need to do more extensive repair?

Carefully taking off the hinge covers (2 screws each) you can gain access the the hinge screws loosen them to see if the alignment is just off, retighten if not better you’ll need a cotton swab and some WD40 carefully spray the WD40 into the red cap to make a small puddle. dip the cotton swab into it (not too much!) and wipe the exposed clutch spring move the lid a few times and try a bit more oil it doesn’t take much!
