Laptop not posting and turning on

I am unable to get my device to turn on or post ….When I press the power button, the keyboard lights up for 2 second and then turns back off and this is happening continuously. I tried turning on bios mode using a dedicated pinhole bios button on the left side of the laptop but still acting the same way….please help

Solução escolhida

It turns out there were two problems……firstly, the cmos battery was bad and I swapped it out.

Secondly, there was problem with the ram slot (probably because of humidity as I live in Mumbai which is quite humid). I swapped out the slot as I had a single 16 GB stick installed and hence had a vacant slot.

Doing the above steps fixed it.Thank you @aactech for your help and your idea about the cmos battery

Does it work with the charger/power supply plugged in?

If no, then take the battery out and plug in the charger.

Lenovo Legion Y520-15IKBN Battery Replacement

If it now works with charger plugged in then replace the battery.

The charger should be 20VDC. See service manual page 21.

A defective battery could short out the system and prevent it from booting even with charger pluggged in.

A dead cmos/BIOS battery could also cause problems with booting. In the battery repair guide photo look to the right of the fans and above the hard drive. It is the disk covered in black plastic with black & red wire. Unplug the tiny white connector. It should be 3VDC.

I checked my charger.....it is fine....also i had been noticing kind of frequent BSODs and i thought that was due to thermals but then it used to be around 70-75 C
