TV turns off when volume too loud

Good afternoon guys.

I have a Panasonic Viera Tv that works fine except when I raise the volume above a certain level. When it reaches that level the TV turns off and a red light blinks 9 times in a row, stops for a bit then blinks another 9 times and so on.

I only use it connected to my laptop and I have tried both HDMI slots.
