New Craftsman zero turn riding mower cranks but won't start
Only 12 hours on this new Craftsman zero turn Briggs and Stratton engine riding mower.
Suddenly shut down while mowing. Will crank but not start. I did the following,
Checked oil - Ok
Checked spark and plugs -Ok
Checked fuel system, fuel line is pumping gas.
Pulled flywheel and replaced flywheel key.
Checked fuse - Ok
Used ether starter fluid - still cranks, but will not start at all.
Currently checking fuel solenoid - don ’t have answer yet.
I would have suspected a safety switch, but my experience is that safety switches will not allow the engine to even crank.
What now?
Thanks for any help you can give!

What is your model number?
Other things to check: Air filter, bad fuel, carburetor/fuel injector.

Tim, Thanks for your interest. The Craftsman mower model no. is 247.204113. The model on the Briggs and Stratton is 44N677. I suppose the fuel, fuel injector/carb could be an issue. But, considering the mower shut down so abruptly – it was immediate, not gradual like you might expect for a fuel issue, it just seems odd. We only used the mower 6 times! Air filter is clean as a whistle. Won’t even start with a shot of starter fluid.

Just for clarification if it is needed later on. That mower is a Z6000 build by MTD as a 17Bkcacs099 then rebranded as Craftsman

Oldturkey03, yep it is a Z6000. Didn't know it was a MTD "brand". I haven't tried looking into the safety switches,. I was saving that for last.. I suppose it is a matter of testing continuity or other? I'll do some online research on that. I bought the mower one week before Sears closed in my town. No warranty as one year has past. And there is no Sears repair service here to service it.

@bruse yes please check to see what you find out. I am certain I have more info on the Briggs engine if needed but this sounds so much like an electrical issue versus a fuel issue.
