iBook G4 14 1.42 GHz charges battery, don´t turn on

Hi, I replaced DC-In Board reading Ibook G4 14 Troubleshooting (problem fit with "Bad DC-In Board" section.

Previously I bought a new power adapter and a new battery.

Battery ran, but power adapter didn´t charge it, so I bought a new DC-In Board and I replaced it following your instructions.

But now, battery seems to charge, I put it almost empty and now it has three green lights (although they appear and disappear, intermittent)

However, when I press the power button, computer does nothing, no turn on, no hard drive sound, it seems dead.

What would the problem? I don´t think board problem, cause it ran good before change DC-In Board. (It ran good with new battery 50% charged I mean, with new power adapter, computer did not turn on without battery)

Opções

Try to reset the PMU (power manager unit).

Disconnect the ibook from the AC adapter, remove the battery and push on the power button for at least 5 seconds then reinstall the battery, plug the ac adapter and try to power up the machine.

It almost works. I can start now, computer works with AC adapter (without battery too). But when I see About this Mac, More Info - Power, it appears Battery not charging. First time told me too there is 1 Cycle Count.

I turned off Ibook and I left power adapter trying to charge battery. Computer told me it has less than hour remaining before do this.

Now, battery is 43%, there are three green lights when i push battery button, and in Apple Menu appears 2 Cycle Counts.

It appears this too: "AC Adapter can´t charge battery : Yes"

Amperage shows 0

Voltage shows 14515

At least, I can use Ibook with AC, but it sounds something is still wrong.

Another ideas what can I do to fix it completely?

Is your battery a cheap generic one from China ? If so be aware that these batteries often have problems. Could you check it on another ibook ?

Yes, is this: http://cgi.ebay.es/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?View... I´ll try with old battery to make a proof. AC Adapter is from ebay too. At least I can use computer with AC Adapter.

With old battery Apple Menu say is charging. About Chinese battery don´t say it, but I´ve checked it charges too. Thanks, for your answer, problem solved.
