Why will some buttons in some apps not respond to my s pen?

I’ve only recently started playing games on my tablet, and now that I have, I’ve noticed that a lot of the time, they won’t respond to my s pen. Within any given game, I can use my stylus most of the time, but for certain things (it varies depending on the game) the game ignores my stylus and I need to use my fingers.

I guess it could be a security feature - making it a little less likely that players accidentally click something they don’t mean to? - but I’m physically disabled and can’t be tapping with my fingers.

Is there any way I can tell my tablet to accept my stylus all the time? Or is this just something I have to live with?
