Freeze is not cold enough unless set on the highest setting. (9)
My GE Profile side by side model TFX25PPBAWW is not getting cold enough unless I have it set to “9”.
I have vacuumed the coil under the unit and also cleaned out the compressor compartment in back. The fan by the compressor moves freely but I have not checked resistance yet. What should I get for a reading, closed or is there a ohm reading I should get if it is good?
I have also removed the back panel in the freezer and the coils were completely clear of dust and frost, as I had turned the setting back to 6/7. I then increased the the setting to 9 and within 15 minutes the temperature rose and frost developed on the coils. Additionally the fan behind the ice maker is/was running when I checked it.
I am thinking there must be a thermostat or temperature control I should be looking at as my problem, is this correct. Can I check these and what resistance should I get?
I have ordered a freezer thermometer but haven’t received it yet so if you need temperatures I will have to get them to you a later response.
thanks
