My headphone doesn't work when I pug it in...

From the sounds of it you may have a driver or hardware issue. The audio driver may need to be updated but you should first check and see if Windows detects the device.

1. Right-click on speaker icon at the bottom right of the taskbar
2. Click Sounds
3. A window should appear; click the Playback tab and you should see your connected headphones
4. If they are there, then right-click on them and click Test

If not audio plays or your headphones don’t show up your next course of action is to check the drivers.

1. Type into the search bar at the bottom left of your taskbar “Device Manager” and hit enter to open it
2. Expand the section called Audio inputs and outputs (should be a speaker icon)
3. Right-click on the one that says something like “Speakers/Headphones”
4. Click properties
5. Then click update driver and select Search automatically for updated driver software
6. Follow the prompts and complete the steps it shows
7. If this doesn’t work, then you can try to roll back the driver

If none of what I said above fixes the problem then find where the headphones connect to the computer. VERY lightly move the end of the headphone connector around at where it plugs into your computer. If there is a lot of movement, then the AUX connector in you computer may have broken away from the motherboard. This means you should try to get it repaired by a computer technician.

Note: You should try testing your headphones with another device. The headphones themselves might be broken and not the computer.
