Sony Bravia KDL60-EX700 - Red Light 5 blinks

Hi, My sony bravia 60in lcd tv has no picture & audio. Red light blinks 5 times. Did try to reset but then light turn green for a few seconds and the back to red light blinks (5 times). Technician said its the faulty LCD panel just by the counting the red lights error code and without checking the boards inside. Can anyone help here & what are other possible faults besides the lcd panel. The lcd panel are expensive & im hoping it maybe other problems & not lcd panel (5 red blinks error).tq
