Why can't my ps3 find the proper hard drive?
When I start up my PS3 the screen says its unable to find the proper hard drive.

Matthew Miller, try this first 1. Unplug the system from the power mains, then plug it back in. Turn it on and see if it makes any difference. 2. Open the HDD panel on the side of the console, remove the hdd, then put it back in. Turn on the PS and see if it works. Great......after trying all the button pushing to enter safe mode etc NOTHING worked. Then I undid the flap underneath,removed the screw,slid open the cover and pulled out the hd. Then after putting it all back together...switch on..beep..beep..beep...it turns off...then beep..beep...beep beep ...it entered safe mode! Option 2 selected and all was good! Result!!!!!( slimline ps3...160gb)
i cant get into safe mode ! after completing 3 peep and red light and again 3 peep ! then turn off or get black screen !help me plz

You need to have it cleaned and thermal pasted
Its suppose to be first 2 beeps once console is of hold power button it will go on keep holding in till it goes of then hold power button in again it will turn on keep holding it for another 2 beeps then leave it and it should take you into safe mode. What is wrong with your ps3?

Please help i have literally done everything to using a usb 2.0 with PS3-UPDATE-psupdat.pup my hard drive which is a 320Gb says cannot start cannot detect storage despite entering safe mode did option 3 to backup option same results everytime i get back to cannot detect correct storage im beginning to think my hdd is broken despite it being totally quiet id appreciate advice
