water leaks from the bottom

If the tubes are breaking the most likely culprit is that the maker is not being descaled. What happens is that scale deposits on the inside of the heater, the heater gets inefficient, so the metal parts of the heater get hotter than they should to turn the water to steam and move it up to the showerhead so the hose gets too hot and breaks.

After you get the new hose in there completely dissolve three or 4 teaspoons of food grade citric acit in a full 10 cups (10 six ounce cups+60 ounces) of water. (Yes I know that to most humans a cup is 8 ounces, but in CoffeeWorld a cup is 6 ounces.) Let it cool and brew it through the machine. It will do wonders for descaling the boiler and cleaning the showerhead, filter holder, valve and urn as well. Then run at least two plain water brews through your machine.

Descale at least every 6 months for a happy life mofe if your brewer is use a lot. I have been on the Coffeegeek forums for a long time, and I might know what I speak of. I have gotten lots of help from them.

Since you know how to address the maintenance issue that probably caused the problem, I’ll tell you where to buy the hose to help you fix the symptom.

I actually own the drip maker you refer to and I’ll measure the hoses tomorrow to tell you which one I think will fit the best. All these tubes claim to be food grade.
