How do I check for resource hogging in Win 10?

My Viglen Connect 10 Tablet has really slowed up even basic actions, how do I check?

If it was my old XP computer I would know how, but not Win 10.

Also I don’t mean to be cheeky, but I have a Medion Win 10 netbook which will not update to an sd card even though set up to do so, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Don.

If you’d like to free up some CPU time, RAM and Space, you could use such things like DWS, Win10Tweaker and O&OShutUp10. After that it would be a good idea to clean your registry. Some prefer CCleaner, I am more into classic but fast and small, RegCleaner 4.3. Yes, it looks like it was make in 1998 (which is close, actually), but its speed and weight are second to none when it comes to registry cleaners, and it works with Windows 10 flawlessly.

I also have a reg-file for disabling Cortana w/o losing Search ability near Start Menu. DM me (or comment), if you're interested in that, I’ll send a link to it.

Have tried CCleaner it cleans but no improvement . I will check but I think I Have shut cortana down already. I will persevere though, even though I dislike Win 10 having been forced into using it. Now if I could put a version of Linux on this Tablet I would be tempted. Thanks anyway.

CCleaner doesn't do much to cleaning and purifying your Windows. So there's that...

BTW, when I said "disabling Cortana", I meant disabling for good, not just with Windows settings, but completely so that she won't listen to you.

You can open the task manager in the ctrl+alt+del menu, or open it directly with ctrl+shift+esc. Through the task manager, you can see usage for resources like memory, CPU, disk io, and network.

Silly me,of course there is an esc key. Had almost no instructions with this Tablet. Kbd has several formats. Found how to open Task Manager and saw an anti virus app- using 37% just before it stopped running. But now I know where to look if it happens again. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

It seems like a long press on the Windows key leads to the Task manager.
