Mid-2010 MBP - Random shutoff, already replaced SDD and battery

Mid 2010 MBP running on Sierra 10.12.6.

So for several months now, my MBP will sometimes shut off while it's in Sleep with the lid closed. I'll be doing something like homework and close the lid for 5-10 minutes, come back, and it's unresponsive. There are times when the fan will start to kick in, but it's not too hot, and nothing comes up on the screen.

I've replaced my HDD for a Samsung SSD and swapped out the battery for a new one, but the problem is still happening. I would have to force shut down the laptop and boot it back up, which sucks when I'm working on something and have to open up programs again to get back to where I was.

I don't have the money yet to get a new laptop, so if there's any other way I can resolve this issue, please help! I appreciate any advice and can try to provide more information if needed. Thanks everyone!

It might be a failure in the lid power rail..it 's a fairly simple circuit but if a resistor starts failing it might cause the issues you describe. I seriously doubt SSD and/or battery would have anything to do with your Mac's failures. An SMC reset might help for a while but things are likely to return the same until the component will be replaced. If you have around a lab doing component level repairs it would be worth a try.

As much as I hate going to them, do you think Apple's Genius Bar could do lid power rail repair? They've been pretty useless 9 out of 10 times I've went (if I've even bothered going to them 10 times).

No, they won't do that kind of repair. In that case it would be a logic board replacement... I want to suggest that you check for viruses using a program like Malwarebytes. I have seen similar problems caused by viruses on clients macbooks

Try to soft reset the your Mac book pro shut down your Mac, remove the charger first then battery and disconnect it from your Macbook. leave the Mac for 15 minutes now, check all the cables if any loose found fix it. atlast connect battery to mac then charger and switch it on, may be the issue is resolved.
