Model 970-C45092-30 will fill with water, agitate both directions drain the water but will not do the last quick spin. The digital timer just ends the cycle with anywhere from 7 - 11 minutes to go, cycle dependent. I cleaned out every Jose and the drain trap. Door clicks when it locks. It just won't spin.

Cause 1
Lid Switch Assembly
The lid switch assembly prevents the washer from spinning when the lid is open. If the lid switch assembly fails, the washer will not spin. To determine if the lid switch assembly is defective, use a multimeter to test the lid switch for continuity. If the lid switch does not have continuity, replace it.
Cause 2
Motor Coupling
The motor coupling connects the motor to the washing machine transmission. If the washer is overloaded, the motor coupling will fail in order to protect both the motor and transmission. The motor coupling can also fail due to normal wear. Inspect the motor coupling to determine if it is broken. If the motor coupling is broken, replace it.
Cause 3
Drive Belt
Inspect the drive belt to determine if it is broken or if it is loose on the pulleys. If the drive belt is broken or loose, replace it.

You can check if it is set to mode that not remove the water from cloths. there is a lot modes to set on it. Search for the manual.
Maybe there is a reset settings somewhere.
Else it is maybe an internal circuit problem.

Thanks for your thoughts, I have taken the control board out and found trace residue on one of the the 200v 1000uf caps. I'll swap it out and check back in.
Good , check if there is something else that broke up....
OK changed the capacitor, no change. Took the door switch out and it is an actuator piston which activated the door lock. I believe it is functional because there is a nice heavy sounding click and on the bench observe it bridgin 2 contact points nicely. Drive belt is tight with lots of grip.
As for the coupling, I have not investigated yet bease the washer rotates during the wash part of the cycle, both directions, the water drains, then nothing. The final spin just doesn't happen and the cycle ends even with 7 or more minutes left on the digital timer. Could a faulty clutch or coupling allow the machine to wash but not spin?

I believe that there something more burned in the board, you can test some components other capacitors and resistors with multi meter.
If there is a switch sensor you don't trust you can close circuit the pins or open the pins to make sure that it contacts well.

Rich Kibbee it will not spin at all or just not the last spin. Does the timer advance and finish the cycle?

Thanks for your responses, I am throwing in the towel, checked everything and all that's left is the control board and panel. Which I am not about to start swapping out at hundreds of dollars.
