D55u-d1 Gets logo then powers off.

So of course my Vizio TV is out of warranty. Recently I have an issue where the logo will display but after 10 seconds it powers off. Being out of warranty I replaced the main board myself to no avail. Before I waste more money solving this problem does anyone have any ideas as to what would cause this problem?

All the boards look good, I don't see any signs of blown capacitors, I'm just wondering what my next step should be, replace power board or replace t-con board.

Vizio tells me it can't be a firmware issue nor will they release the firmware to me.

Any ideas?

After talking to tech support from their third party company it sounds like a screen issue....if that's the case it's not cost effective to fix. Anyone else dealt with a power issue on screen itself?

If you change the logicboard , then check if there is any other board inside, then check for the backlight if it works.

Backlight works I can see it power on with the back panel open. There are 3 other boards, but I found a total repair kit for $70 that includes all the boards, so I just bought it. I'll regut the whole thing and that should solve any issues I'm having.

Thanks,

Dan

Alright, if you change it all and not work there is no other way

lol that would be my luck!! Vizio support is no help.....they make it sound like only absolute trained professionals should replace these parts.....sorry Vizio your LED tv's are much easier to fix than the 5 DLP's i've brought back to life!

Did you figure out the solution?

You have a bad EEPROM in the main board, its what sends the start boot to the CPU, its a common failure, and a $10 part but a little tricky to replace unless you are real good at soldering, its only a 8 pin chip but very small, a replacement main board will also fix the issue but that board isn’t cheap
