Try this:

1. Plug your unit into the USB port on your computer. A file will pop up that says “Garmin”. Click on that.
2. On the next list of files that come up, click on “Garmin”.
3. In the next list of files that come3 up, click on “Garmin Device”. It is a small text file.
4. About 12 lines down in the text file will be a line that says, “<UNLOCK><CODE>.
5. I can’t promise that is THE code you need, but it is worth a try.

You have two options, first being to throw it in the trash. Second would be to find out the format the code is, and then attempt to brute force it.

Your device is a stolen device, so you can't retrieve the code. because that code came along with the purchased receipt from the Wal Mart store. It has nothing to do with the Garmin they can't even request the Wal Mart to Retrieve that code.

Yeah, gave up on this unit. Paid $150 for it on eBay so expected it to be legit. Learned my lesson, won't buy Garmin again. Thanks!
