This laptop will not turn on. No Signs of life at all.
I've tested the battery on another laptop of the same model and it works. Also charger.
When a charger is in the laptop the charge indicator light on the laptop does not turn on.
What should I focus on when I take apart this laptop?

It could be a problem with static discharge, if so do the following.
1. Disconnect the power cord
2. Remove the battery
3. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds, then release for 30 sec and then hold down for another 30sec
4. Plug in power; replace battery and power on laptop.
If this causes no Joy try this.
Remove memory and reinstall one stick at a time, if there are more than 1 DIMM of RAM, try each stick in each slot one at a time to see if the memory is ok and to determine if one of the memory slots is bad.

i would say your first step would me taking a multimeter across the +/- of the charge port board connector, to make sure your charging port is accepting the current from the port. if it is not, then replacing your charge port will fix the issue, otherwise, you will need to look into more subtle issues.

I'll have a look into the charge port. But it still wont boot with the battery charged in an identical laptop.

Is there any lights at all on when you plug it in and try to turn it on? Any sound? For example, fans briefly turning on or the HDD starting to spin? I would look specifically at the battery connector on the motherboard.

No Response at all. Would a damaged battery connector stop it booting from AC only power?
It might stop it from booting completely into the OS, but there should definitely be some sign of life. If the battery works in a different laptop and you put it in this one and it doesn't work at all, it could be the motherboard or the connector on the motherboard. The AC port might also be broke but that wouldn't affect it from starting if the battery was charged.
This youtube video may be able to help you. It seems as if it's the power button itself that may be broke. This isn't the exact same model but it is pretty close.
