I have a 2001 chrysler van we just replaced my catalytic due to clogging now my cat gets red hot and exhaust makes popping noise also runs in neutral but when i switch to drive and try to touch gas stalls immediately im guessing o2 sensor or map but i dont wanna spend the money if thats not the problem any ideas?

@alpow1882, Amanda, Check to see if you have any vacuum lines disconnected or possible vacuum leaks(links below may help). If able to have the vehicle scanned for engine trouble codes as this could help diagnose/lead to the failing sensor/part. Some of the auto parts suppliers offer free code reading like Pepboys, Nappa, Advanced auto parts,etc and some of the guys are very knowledgeable and may have seen the issue often and put you on the right track.
