Hi, i have a bunch of LCDs (not digitizer) from broken droid 1s on hand. I just obtained a droid 2 that has a broken LCD. I can directly substitute the parts? The flex ribbon cable connecting the digitizer, lcd and earpiece to the motherboard also seem to be the same part. Will the direct substitution work?

I just tried it out. The droid 2 motherboard can completely be swapped into a droid 1 frame, provided you use the back housing of the droid 2 (the headphone pins are slightly different in layout). the only issue resulting from this is some mismappings in the keyboard, and the switching of the back, home and menu buttons on the digitizer. The LCD works perfectly. This implies the flex ribbon is the same in the droid 1 and 2 as well. The only thing to watch out for is i have seen some part stores sell two types of digitizers, one that has a narrow connector and another with the wide connector. My answer only applies for the narrow connector, and I haven't seen a wide connector ribbon cable for sale. Hope this helps people.

If I'm not mistaken, the Droid 2 uses the same LCD as the Droid 1. From our Droid 2 teardown: "The Droid 2 uses the same 3.7 inch, Full WVGA, 854x480 TFT LCD as the original Droid." So it should theoretically be swappable.

I kept the phone for 2 weeks of web surfing and looking at youtube and it seemed fine. Then I listed it on ebay.

Hi, would you consider selling me one of your LCDs? Im fixing my Droid 2, but if you say the Droid1 LCD will work in it then maybe we can have a deal.. get back to me, thanks
