I have a macbook air mid 2012.
Now it says that service is needed for my battery.
So we had the SMC reset and let it fully charge and let it fully discharge.
But first coconut said that my fully charge capacity was 74% after the cycle only 51% and after recharging back again at 73%.
Has anyone an idea what's wrong and how to fix it?

If you go to Applications --> Utilities --> System Report --> Power, it will tell you the condition of the battery. From the behavior (and considering the battery is over 4 years old), it sounds like the battery needs to be replaced.

That's the problem. The battery is new. it only has 24 cycles.
@dagmar, so I would get your money back. I think you have a cheap knockoff. I have seen this issue on really poorly made batteries. What is the model exactly of the MacBook Pro? Late or early 13" 2012?
