How to fix the power, the mute and the volume button right?

I've bought a new housing for my Iphone 3GS, but when i want to fix the power button it doesn't come out.

And the mute and the volume buttons aren't properly secured, they are a bit crooked, the mute button is also a bit shaky.

So I'm helpless :(

I'm grateful for evry post and I will add somm images later that you can see it better!

thanks for the answers, you' ve got 2 scores from me :)

"electrical tape" or "blutak"

is that ok because I think the current should be lead or not?

por

not sure what current should be lead or not means? but thanks for the votes.. have you fixed the problem?

por

I mean "conduct electricity" (google translator -.-)

I fixed the problem not yet in cours of my question.

(I hope this is better understandable)

por

Blu tak is a reusable gummy type stuff used for sticking posters to walls etc without ruining paint/ wallpaper. In this instance you use it to stick the mute button fro the outside of iPhone. Leaving you both hands fre to put vibrate flex in place. Then you cam remove Blu tak. I don't know if you have something like this where you live. There should be no problem with conductivity since it is not left in iphone

por

is the blu tak also ok for the power button because its too much inside the housinge

Solução escolhida

the vibrate/mute switch has a very small groove in it which the plastic toggle sit in. use something like blutak to secure switch in down position, put flex switch in down position and then tighten screws

This is the trickiest repair on iphone 3G and 3GS. The chrome power button must sit in the housing with the metal swing arm pointed to the back of the iphone(I hope this makes sense). Sometimes the button will seat shallow and not click like it should. I have cut small pice of electrical tape and placed it on the bottom of the of the chrome power button so it makes better contact with the power button flex cable. Just keep working on it until you get the desired results. Good Luck!

if you over tighten the screws on the power button it sometimes loses it's spring (wont push in etc) loosen them off a bit and it should be fine
