Changing the plastic that attaches to the blade

When you take out the cup that contains the blades you'll see a plastic circle with a nut in the center to hold it to the motor. That plastic broke & I have bought a replacement but can't get the old nut off the motor. Suggestions?!?!

Hi John, can you tell me where you bought that plastic disc...? Mine is broken but I can't seem to find one. Thank you.

amazon.com is where I got my replacements they have an range of attachments to the nutrabullet

por

I’m also trying wd40 and pliers as the plastics broke off. The screw is completely stuck. Can anyone help please?

por

I tried all of these videos and the old disk won't budge. I hate to throw a perfectly fine nutribullet in the trash just because the disk is damaged. But I have no choice.

Hey Leslie g

Try this that I did you can fix it

My old post

I’m also stripping the screw top at the base trying to get it off. A hole in the side of the shaft would give much better leverage in a system that self tightens than a naff old screw and a hole in the plastic base that doesn’t let a screwdriver through,

OK

Found a solution. Remove the base plate (4 screws), wiggle the plastic fan off the shaft of the screw head (now stripped because it is very difficult to get effective torque with that much surface area to screwdriver surface area plus really soft metal) and grip the ribbed shaft with pliers while turning the plastic base gear up top.

Really Nutribullet a loosening direction arrow (because it is opposite what is usual and difficult to deduce from mirror image videos) and a hole in the shaft to ease turning would make changing this so much easier and so much less landfill.

@texjohn , John , Below are video links to show how to remove/replace the plastic drive gear. Caution the gear is threaded opposite to normal threads clock wise to remove/counter clockwise to tighten. Good luck.

I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.

Tried that method, but its stuck that tight it's damaged the screwdriver and also now the thread to grip the brass screw had worn down so it just turns when we clamp it....I have also tried WD40 to loosen it. Nothing seems to work.

Thank you for posting! All fixed and good as new!

This is the second nutribullet I’ve had to discard due to this problem. The first time I attempted to do a YouTube fix where the bottom is unscrewed, you get a cloth with which to hold the blade inside the nutribullet allowing a good grip. But the screw at the top does not budge. And then very difficult to get the bottom back on.

por

Thanks for that advice. I followed it and have a tip to add. I removed the bottom fan, then gripped the top gold screw / washer with a pliers and used an electric drill with a flat head screwdriver on the bottom screw & that worked nicely. Make sure you are turning the bottom bottom screw the right way though, it should be spinning anti clockwise at the top (meaning the gold screw / washer around it is effectively turning clockwise). I also had someone help as it was tricky using the electric drill & gripping with the pliers similtaneaously. Nitro Bullet back up and running though :-)

THANK YOU. Prying off the fan blade is EXACTLY what I needed to do to get this, and I watched at least a dozen videos and no one suggested it.

This video has the juice. Take off the base cover, stick a flathead screwdriver to stop the post from rotating and take off the nut.

I was able to get the whole replacement set on Amazon, but they also have just the rings available. Try this:
