Why can I only use my tablet for work?

I have a Samsung galaxy tab 2 for work and I cannot use it for anything except work. How do I override the security policy in place to use the internet browser, apps, music, and other features that tablets are good for? I really want to be able to use this for all of its features without losing the data I need for work. Can anyone help?
