I'm trying to repair my Ipad mini2 but when I received the screen replacement, it did not come with a home button face. Do I have to take off my home button from my old screen? How do I go about doing that?

Yes, you transfer it over.
There is a bracket that keeps it on. Its just glued on. Pop it off with a small screwdriver, then stick it on the new screen.
