I replaced my battery yesterday and let it charge overnight. This morning the rear speaker doesn't work. the head phone jack still works and I can still make calls and have no sound issues unless i use speaker phone. Can anyone provide a detailed fix with some pictures? thanks

I have the same issue. The old battery was a curved one. The new one PolarCell 2400mAh (german ebay) was flat. Now I have no sound.

I actually just replaced my battery in the Moto X 2nd generation also called the Moto X 2014. It was a little bulky also. But I took a small Dremel tool and widened out the bottom of my frame. It is plastic. The speaker's still weren't working so I took it apart again and this time bent upwards the two gold contacts that allow the speaker to function. They are the two gold contacts that are all by them self on the frame not any of the gold contacts that are around all the other intricate electrical components. So just make sure you bend those flat gold ones up that are on the frame side by themselves. They are located in the lower left corner if you have the back on and it is facing away from you. If you push right on that spot on the back when you're testing the loud speaker function you should be able to get the speakers to go on and off by pushing right there. That's a good way to test them.

Also be very careful with all the components when unhooking them and getting the back off the phone and taking it apart. It is stuck down pretty good so you might even want to use some heat

When I put my phone back together and screwed it down it was still a little more bulky than my original OEM Motorola battery but it did tighten down without too much trouble. If you're putting your back together and it feels like you're pinching it too much and putting too much pressure on the back I would either try and make more room for the battery or try and get one that's skinnier.

Had my battery changed, now no ringer, and can't play videos-no volume. Earphone jack still works, which is sort of useless. :(

I am facing the same problem. There was an article which mentioned that this is because of thickness of battery which impacts the speaker circuit.

I am looking for that article; will share the link once I find it.

Edit:

Found it!

I can confirm that this definitely works! I've solved it another way, I just put a paper under the contacts to be a bit higher.

Pranav Mathur was correct. I replaced the battery on a phone and at that point I had no speaker. I looked carefully over every part of the phone to make sure I didn't rip or damage anything (It's rare, but it happens, lol). When I found nothing, I looked at the connections and squeezed the phone while it was on to see if I got any sound and sure enough, I did! The battery that I used to replace it was flat and the old one was curved and thinner. After shaving a little of the frame off (I actually used a wire cutter I had on hand and nipped pieces away) and bending the battery slightly, I had sound! Hope this helps! At least it confirms the prognosis of Pranav Mathur.

I can unfortunately only contribute what did not work. I also tried re-disassembling and working the battery, in my case It made no difference. I ended up putting the old battery back in and the speakers again worked. At least we can confirm that it has something to do with the battery and its size and shape.

I replaced the original on a Motorola Droid Ultra xt1070 with a fatter battery (accidental ordering mistake). Now speaker out, phone jack OK, no ringtone, audio, etc. thru speaker. But new battery will not charge. OS not recognizing new battery? (From 2000 ma to 3500 ma.) Can I fix it?
