Doesnt Turn on using fully charged battery...

bought my macbook a few weeks ago second hand ....battery was all working fine i was able to use it portably , then all of a sudden it said my battery needed replacing so therefore i replaced it with a genuine apple battery..

my mac book only powers on when the power adapter is plugged in

if i take it out whilst the machine is on the power cuts off completely

and if the power adapter isnt plugged in it wont turn on even though the battery says its fully charged when machine is plugged in ...

is there any way i can resolve this issue before i force my self to book an appointment with apple ..

Did the battery come with any documentation?

When you change out the battery you need to do a few things here before using the system. First you need to do a SMC reset so the system forgets about the old battery. Then next thing here is to properly calibrate your battery. Follow these links:

I would also recommend installing this app so you get a better view on what your systems battery: coconutBattery. Post a screen shot before and after you do the SMC reset and calibrating in your question so we too can see whats happening.

so unplug the battery do a smc reset then plug the battery in yes ??

Review the TN again. Your system has a non-removable battery. Yes, it's a bit confusing here ;-} They are talking about externally removable.
