Why won't my device connect to the TV?

Nothing happens when my device is plugged into the adapter and connected to the television.

Hi, Have you ensured that the correct input source is selected on the TV, i.e. HDMI port? If so have you proved that the TV HDMI port works by connecting another device (with HDMI connection) and seeing if it works, e.g. DVD player etc?
