I replaced the DLP chip. Turned on tv and nothing. The tv tries to come on but just black screen and red blink light. Then nothing. So, we replaced the bulb. and still nothing.
Could it be that ribbon cable to the color wheel? I rechecked all the cables and everything is hooked up.

Yes, I fixed it. It was the chip. Make sure you set it just right into the holder. It took me 3 times to get it right. I labeled all the cables and kept the screws all separated. By the third time I could open the tv and put it back together within 30 minutes. Good luck!

The problem I had was the color wheel ribbon cable was upside down. I think the metal contacts need to face up when plugging it in. Took me three trouble shooting attempts to figure it out.

Any pattern to the red blinking light?

I tried the reset button last night. It came on green light and after about 1 min. it started to blink rapidly then shut off. Also , there was a noise in the back of the tv as it first came on.

Yes, this was resolved. 3 times putting the DLP chip was the charm. I got really good at getting into the tv faster. Just remember to label all parts as you go and I used a diagram printout to help. You have to set the chip just right or it will not work and it will make the screen pic tilted if not on completely straight.

I need help with mine ive reput my chip in slot 6 times and still cannot get the pic just black screen an sound but if i put my old chip in its comes on fine like normal??? Please help someone
