Why does the light on my Ac adapter turn off?

about a month ago, I was working on school work and I had a game open, and all of a sudden my laptop just turned off unexpectedly, and it hasn't turned on since then. I've taken it apart, I cleaned the fan and my cpu and everything. But the problem continues, and don't know why. If someone could give me some insight on this, I'd appreciate it.
