micro USB port needs changing

Is the micro USB port interchangeable between the 1st gen. and the 2nd gen. I want to replace the 2 gen.port with the 1st gen.port which is new. I bought it because original port got wobbly with cord and wouldn't take a charge. Now my 2 gen. is doing same thing. So I'm hoping they interchange. My device is the Nexus 7 2013. Thanks
