Dropped on Back Corner, Slightly Dented Case, Backlight Not Working

My dad dropped his PB on its back right corner, resulting in what appeared to be only a minor dent in the outer case. Unfortunately, while the display still functions, the backlight doesn't turn on. I removed both the rear display bezel and upper case to take a look and see if any connectors were obviously dislodged or broken, but didn't see anything. Any Ideas?

I suspect the tube/lamp over the inverter, based on a high shock drop and a dent. If this proves to be the case, I might be tempted to downvote markus' answer...

sure you're right, it could be the ccfl, but please do me a favour - post your answers as answers and stop hiding behind comments - you wrote many good things in your comments, but if you fear a downvote - you shouldn't write stuff like "If this proves to be the case, I might be tempted to downvote markus' answer.."! not that i "fear" the downvote - i didn't like the "i might be tempted" - we are here to help other users fixing their problems, everybody has his opinion, one possible solution here is the inverter, one other is the ccfl. it would be better to answer a question and give others the chance to give you upvotes or give the questioner the chance to accept your answer!

The point is specifically that I am not saying this is an answer. This is a comment.

On the other hand you are saying "This is the answer, and I know it because I am an expert." And that, with a sloppy one line or one word "answer" will earn a downvote. If you want to continue this discussion, the proper place is not here, but on Meta. Please open a question on meta.ifixit.com.

if all connections are ok, it's most likely the inverter that died.

here is the guide to replace it

in this specific case and because of the impact I would also suspect a broken CCF backlight lamp but first all lightning system connectors should be carefully inspected.

sure it could be the ccfl, but i'm honest - i had replaced ~20 lcd's from dropped notebooks - not one had a defective ccfl. but it's of course possible. if the ccfl is broken - it's not that hard to see.
