Why does my computer shut off every time I unplug it?
Every time that i unplug my computer, it immediately turns off and will only power back on after being plugged in.

Your battery most likely needs to be replaced. This can be easily tested if you know someone else with a similar model computer, by swapping out batteries and testing. The battery on the Gateway MA6 is easily accessible, and there are guides available here. that outline the procedure.

Mine does this as well. Usually it's because the battery wasn't all the way in, I just take it out and lock it back in correctly, and it seems to fix it.
