Home button flex torn

After replacing a screen on an iphone 5 the other day when removing the home button flex i tore it slightly ad now it does not work, this is only a small tear, would this top the home button working.

Yes, in my experience almost all cases any tear in flex cables will require replacement.

Yes the slightest tear will cause it not to work
