2 battery not charging and fan speed inconsistency
Hey, I have a A1286 mbp 5,1 2.4 ghz.
My problems are:
Fan speed is completely inconsistent(regardless of the temp between 35-50 degrees). From the the moment I turn it on the fans will spin really fast and loud then slow down every few seconds. Smcfancontrol will get the fan to stay spinning at 6000 rpm but it cannot slow down the fans.
The battery is not charging. This is the tricky part. The magsafe color has done everything from solid green to red to faint green to blinking red and green. Battery just dies. I am using the older charger but it is still 85 watts so that should be fine.
What I've tried:
I replaced the battery with a new third party one, no dice. It came charged and worked well. I will run coconut battery but I think it's good.
Pram resst
Smc reset, both ways. By removing the battery and the non removable battery method. Nothing.
I checked the efi and smc and they are both current.
Outside of these issues the macbook runs well.
