blank screen and bong noise after replacing power flex cable

I just replaced the power flex cable on my iPhone 5 and after reassembling everything, the phone will not power on. I can connect the charger cable to it and it seems like it's on because I can hear a bong noise occur every 5 seconds. The screen is blank and the battery gets very hot while it's plugged in. I have tried to take everything apart and reassembled everything again and still the same problem.

One thing I do notice is that when I took the battery out the first time, I kind of bent it while I was trying to pry it off. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. Any help is appreciated.

Plug device in to computer does iTunes recognise it? This will tell you if it's going to mail screen.

Blank screen could indicate damaged cables make sure u have the seeded correctly press firm in the centre to insure a firm fit.

Battery could be a issue but the screen should still acctivate !

I plugged it into my laptop and iTunes does recognize it. Do you think it's a problem with the LCD? I did kind of tug on the cable a little hard at one point when I was prying the LCD open.

Yes that could be it unfortunately you will need to get another screen to see if that's the problem

You are right. I checked the LCD screen one more time and it looks like I tore the digitizer cable by accident.

I got the same problem after replacing the power button flex cable. But sometimes the LCD would come on but then the digitiser would not respond to touch.

I tried replacing the display assembly with a tested original one which I'm sure it works ok but no luck.

Any other suggestions?

Had a similar problem bought a faulty iphone 5s off ebay was supposed to be a battery connector fault the phone arrived in pieces with parts missing and the battery connector ripped off the board :( after repairing the battery connector and piecing the phone back together. I had the bong noise when it was plugged in.

Tried various things to sort this took it all apart and put it back together again no luck cleaned the charge port etc etc.

Eventually as I was going to replace the charge port anyway i gentry scraped the inside with a hook earring. suddenly I had life. I believe there must have been a short. I don't recommend an earring of course but try replacing the charge port. the bong for me was the cable not getting a connection my battery was completely flat as soon as i got a proper connection the phone started charging.
