Display screen is dark, yet I can connect to the system remotely
Hi, I have an early 2008 24" iMac, it had been working great until today. When I wake it up, the screen has gone dark, I tried to reboot it a few times, reset the SMC, reset PRAM, it is still nothing. I know it's not the logicboard because I can still VNC to it. However in the display preferences, it shows 1280x1024 resolution, instead of 1920x1200 resolution.
My question is whether the issue is the video card or the LCD itself.
I am leaning more toward the LCD because if the video card is bad, I shouldn't be able to VNC and see the display on my Macbook Air, is this assumption correct?
TIA

Can you give us the last four digits of your serial number so we can correctly identify which iMac you have.
