Apple has always soldered the CPU into their systems, but there are a few exceptions out there - mainly the Mac Pro and PowerMac series. Just as Apple has had soldered CPU’s in the Mac ever since they went to intel (with the exception of the Mac Pro), it’ll also be soldered. You will need to order it with the CPU you want at the time of purchase.
