Can you access the network when the tablet is right next to the router?

If so try ''disabling''  the tablet’s WiFi’s minimum power consumption setting. Go to ''Device Manager > Network Adapters > right click Broadcom Wireless > Properties > Advanced > minimum power consumption'' and see if that helps. (not quite sure if it is called minimum power or something similar)
