Hi,
Here is the Ifixit link which shows how to replace the charge port on a Jam Box. It is on the charge port board you will find the pairing switch (SW2)

-This link taken from the above link shows the pairing switch (marked SW2,- to the right of the slot cut in the bottom of the board as viewed in the picture), on the board. From you description it seems as though the actuating lever for the switch has been pushed out of the way, as in the picture it seems as though it is a normal push button type switch. You may have to figure out (if the switch is still connected to the board, whether you are either going to replace it with a switch with a longer actuating lever or to either fix or replace the operating mechanism that is there now.
