iPhone 7: My phone wont turn on after repairs

Hey guys so I have an iPhone 7 I replaced the screen, the tapdic engine, the power connector, and also the battery. I got it to turn on for a second but, when I plug the charger it wont show the battery if its empty and I hit the power button but the phone wont turn on.

iPhone 7: People can only hear me on speaker phone

Currently whenever I call people on the phone, they can only hear me if I put my phone on speaker phone. Is this an ic issue or can it be fixed by replacing the front earpiece?

iPhone 7: Boot loop after back case replacement.

I did follow the guide to replace my iPhone 7 back case. Everything went smooth, I’m 100% sure I didn't mess with screws (everything was tagged and I also made photos after every step), but before final reassembly I decided to check if my phone works only to find out it doesn’t boot. Apple logo appears for 15 seconds, then phone switches off and on. 15 seconds later everything repeats, and phone never finish the boot.

Things I tried one at a time (and they didn’t help):

Disconnected front camera
Disconnected whole display assembly (it didn’t appear in iTunes).
Disconnected back camera
Disconnected back assembly (lightening port and audio speaker). This way it looped faster (in 7 seconds instead of 15)
Disconnected power button assembly
Connected new front camera assembly

I also tried to put iPhone in DFU mode in restore firmware. It succeeded both times, firmware check also succeeded, but iPhone still doesn’t boot. The only thing different is that it loops in 7 seconds instead of 15 like before.

I’m really stuck and don’t understand what I can check at this point. It doesn’t look like Audio IC or modem issue other users are having here, also it shouldn’t be front camera assembly, as I tried to boot without it (and boot with a new assembly) and it doesn’t work too.

UPDATE:

Could someone confirm that iPhone 7 with latest iOS 12 should boot WITHOUT front facing cam ribbon and Touch ID? I know that was an issue on iOS 11 and I’m trying to understand if I have a logic board or display ribbon cables issue.

I just bought a defect iphone 7 to inspect and repair (first timer). I've open the phone and I see this "RED indicator" which I guess (know) is some type of water damage. My question is.

Can I fix it? What should I look for?

I recently tried repairing my iphone 7 but unfortunately i lost multiple screws forcing me to buy a new screw kit. The things is i don't know where certain type of screws go for certain components. Any advice?

iPhone 7: Phone dropped, not responding, but update goes through. Can't backup

Hi,

Our baby dropped my wife’s phone quite strongly. We have no backup! The screen went blank with backlight still on. I tried to reboot it but couldn’t do soft reboot as nothing appeared on the screen (couldn’t slide I guess). So I did hard reset with volume down+power button. The display turned off. But now the phone wouldn’t turn on (I think).

If I press the power button nothing happens. If plugged into the computer with iTunes on, I am successful getting it into recovery mode. Nothing on the screen, but iTunes says that there is a problem with the phone and I should either update it or restore. I chose update and it went through (according to iTunes). But the phone still wouldn’t turn on. I can’t see it on iTunes unless I start it in recovery mode.

All I want for now is to be able to take a backup. But this is impossible in recovery mode…

Any tips?

iPhone 7: Phone did not start properly after screen replacement.

Replaced a shattered iPhone 7 screen bought from iFixit. Tested after making all connections before closing up phone. Seemed to work fine. Closed up the phone and it was stuck in the startup loop (Apple logo). Disassembled and reconnected everything and it didn’t work even with case open as before. Reinstalled the old shattered screen and phone works fine.

Any thoughts?

iPhone 7: iPhone 7 won't reliably connect to telco network

Phone connects sometimes but then loses connection. Sometimes a power down fixes it but at other times it doesn’t. Telstra Auatralia has “Telstra Wi-Fi Call” that saves the day but only when I can connect to a Wi-Fi network. Intermittent issues are a PAIN.

Fortunately my iphone 5s works still so I can swap the SIM and make a call if I need to.

I have done all the basic settings fixes.

Help would be most appreciated.

iPhone 7: Restore successful but boot loop

Hello.

So i get this iPhone 7 on my desk, with water damage, very light corrosion here and there, cleaned and replaced the caps who seemed damaged, now the phone charges normaly (~1A on a 1A charger).

The iPhone turns on and after ~5 second resets itself, so i thought i might be the iOS that is the problem, so i restored with iTunes to latest version, all went well no errors the screen was lit the entire time with the Apple logo and the progress bar. After the restore finished, the iPhone went down and turned back on, but still the boot loop after ~5 seconds.

I repalaced/rebaled the Tristar and Audio IC’s also measured all the relevant main voltages. Also tried to turn on the phone without all the flexes… still boot loop.

Any hints?

iPhone 7: iPhone 7 flashes weird Pink color and then restarts every 2 minutes

So I got this iPhone off Ebay for 100$ and it was water damaged. I cleaned it with isopropyl alcohol and it powered on! When it is being used for more than 2 Minutes it just flashed a weird pink sphere (looks like a blurry face) and then just showed the Apple logo and restarted.

Any help is apreciated!

iPhone 7: No service after charger stopped working

Last night I plugged my phone in to charge it, and it gave me an alert box. My phone was locked and it said something like “You must unlock your iPhone to use this accessory”. Then when I unlocked my phone nothing happened. Ever since then that charging cord hasn’t worked, yet other cords are working fine. I’m not worried about the cord, but I included that because I think it’s related to the issue. Ever since the charger thing happened, my phone has not had service and says ‘Searching’ constantly in the top left. I’ve tried turning the phone on and off, doing a hard reset, resetting network settings, and removing the SIM card, all to no avail. That first started about 24 hours ago. Has anyone seen this issue before? Thanks!

iPhone 7: Loop mode after changing battery

Replaced my iPhone 7 battery yesterday. I’ve done this in the past with my old iPhone so I felt fairly confident. Followed directions and all seemed to go smooth. When powered back on, my phone is stuck in loop mode and won’t fully start up. Rechecked all my cables and all seem fine. After further investigation I realized my phone would fully start up and work if I left the home button cable unplugged. Home button obviously doesn’t work, but everything else works fine. Any ideas what my issue may be??

Hey guys,

I had an iphone with audio ic problem. Jumped C12 and tried starting it with a power supply. It told me it was short and I found a capacitor that was loose on VCC main. It was on the other side of the main board so it should not have been me who knocked it “loose”

Now when i plug in the battery or power supply the phone starts automatically. I have not seen this happen. When I switch off the phone it also reboots

Removed the audio IC to check if something is shorted but it looks clean and audio recording also work.

removed all the “glue” around the “power on button“ jack and dock connector jack and everything looks clean. Measured their values and those are all also correct according to ZXW.

EDIT: Swapped a board for the customer. I will send his board to China for repair. Labor isn’t worth the time/money.

iPhone 7: Water Damage Turn On

I dropped my iPhone in the water for a quick few seconds. then took it out and placed it in a bowl of rice, after it being in there for 12 hours, it seems to turn on but the screen is still black. Once I hit the power button it turns a different color black. Like its on

my iphone 7 which is on 11.4.1 has the greyed out speaker. It has 71 days left on the warranty, and i have an appointment with a certified apple repairer. I am going to try and get repair or replacement . I am in the UK

What are my chances? if they refuse, can i appeal?

Hi @refectio, hi guys, i need help !

recently i received iPhone 7 with bootloop issue and touch issue. So i placed C12 audio jumper and i found, than touch does not work. So i tried:

reball HOMER

replaced M2800

replaced U4805 because touch ID had damaged resistor (open line - infinity resistance) on I2C_MESA_TURTLE_SCL_CONN line.

Touch connector resistance OK

LCD connector resistance OK

Where can be problem?

When i rehot M2800 touch works for a few minutes.
